A Circle of Friends?

Swamp rats
don't appear to tolerate others of their kind

Not even
when it's a young one who appeared to have followed its mother
through the 'metro system' of tunnels to emerge from the flower pot |

|
But birds
are another matter altogether
|
 |
|
No matter
how busy it is with birds,
and as long as the 'stroppy' doves are not in a bad mood............ |

|
They happily
tolerate the birds
and the tolerance is generally reciprocated |
 |
|
Even being
completely surrounded and cut off from the
refuge flowerpot, doesn't seem to worry the bolder rats. although the nervousness of others indicated the presence of a larger population |

Birds that
don't visit very often, like this Eastern Rosella,
appear slightly bemused by the little rats |
